I talked to someone at the Green City Market back in December who told me that the RSVP was just so they could get an idea about how many people will attend (50? 500?). She told me I may receive a reply at some point, but probably not. In fact, at the time, many of the logistics/details for the event hadn't been finalized. So, just show up.

I spoke with Laura at Green City, and she said she was having trouble with email over the holidays. If you don't get a response today, it'd probably be a good idea to call or write her.

I received my confirmation today and am very excited.

I notice the event is scheduled to be 5-hours long (which I realize are the hours the market is open on Saturday). Are people planning on going for the whole event or just a portion of it? I'm guessing that if only attending part of it, earlier is better but I'd like to know what those in the know recommend.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

I plan to come on the early side. The big downside of the Peggy Notebaert Museum is a lack of parking. I once considered their location for a special interest meeting until I learned of the parking issues. Thankfully it is winter, because boating season is supposed to be a nightmare.

    Regards,

We will also be there early, check out the offerings, and then off to a GNR or two for an early dinner before heading back out to the country. :)

I've been going to the fall/winter Green City Market regularly, and have had no problem at all parking in the lots across the street from the museum.

I called Laura at the GCM office and plans are to have the main tasting at 10:30AM. The market is open from 8:00AM to 1:00PM. A more detailed schedule is in development, and I'll post it here when it's available.

thanks for the rec., but North Pond really isnt my style, especially with a toddler in tow.

We will probabaly finally hit Hae Woon Dae, or Lachetts, or make a return trip up to Argyle street, or San Soo Gap San.

Hae Woon Dae, as well. IIRC correctly, they don't open until 4 or 5 pm. Pretty sure SSGS is open for lunch, though. I've been to Laschett's for lunch on a Saturday but it was about a year ago.

Luckily I carry the GNR list in my wallet, so a quick phone call to check on hours will be easy after the event. Lachetts is my first choice.

I have been to SSGS for lunch, and Argyle will have a few places open for lunch(the adult beverage issue will be the only drawback of the places on Argyle).

I guess if I have to I could find something to do until Hae Woon Dae opens if indeed they do open @ 4 p.m. , but would prefer to escape the city well before 5 p.m.
