The sign in the front window oddly states that although the restaurant will be closed indefinitely, customers are advised to watch for a grand reopening.

I hope Linette's does reopen--I liked the place.

Hm. Dont know more about this - but maybe we'll take it in a different
    direction :-)

Youre the expert, Zim - what do you think are the best jerk places in the
city? And on the northside? Ive tried a couple and theyve been just ok -
that one in the stripmall, Dempster and Dodge, and a couple others. Iam
blanking on which one Linette's was, however, so not sure IVe tried
it - is that the one down the street from Hecky's?

What about on the Southside? If BAs *is* actually closed, Iam going to have
to find someplace to replace it tomorrow, and the next couple weeks :-(
Yesterday while driving down 79th from the highway (the 75th street
ramp is closed again, if anyone wondered), saw "Tropical Taste" - couldnt
recall if the reviews for it were positive or otherwise. Arent there a couple
of very good spots on 75th or 79th, though?

And on an unrelated topic - anyone been to Lagniappe's recently? Has it
returned to its former glory days yet?

I definitely would NOT call myself the expert, but for what its worth - Southside, Northside whatever, take my advice go to Tropic Island.

here are a couple to get your saliva going

fwiw, linette's I thought was the best of the places I had on the northside
