STOP! Not to diminish your choice (or the choice of someone else), because I have been to JC's many times, however there are much better places to get the same type of food in this area (Palmer Place in La Grange comes to mind). I am not into bashing restaurants, nor am I a food snob, but I must be honest. This is a great neighborhood place, and by that I mean the patrons are regulars, everyone is very friendly and the owner makes you feel welcome. He greets you as though he's known you for years even if it is the first time he's seen you.
My mother and aunt have been dining here every Friday night for over ten years, many times with myself in attendance, and the only reason they return each week is becuase the food is okay (at best) and their prices are reasonable (cheap). They do have a large menu, however many of the selections are not edible. Of the selections on the menu I would stick with the ribs, the burger, the pan fried perch, and for whatever reason their salmon specials seem to be good. A lot of their other options (pastas, shrimp) come soaked in oil.
However, if you're not too picky about your food, this is a good place because they have a large outdoor beer garden with Bocci ball courts and they do know how to serve an ice cold beer, wine, or mixed drink.
