    greetings,

I am visiting chicago this weekend and i'm trying to plan a dinner with friends. i would appreciate very much if anyone could recommend a good place for friday night where it's not too loud/crowded, where we can preferably sit outside and enjoy a long leisurely dinner of sashimi and sake.

we would definitely prefer a less expensive place (no more than $2-3 per piece of sushi a la carte).

    thank you in advance.

Mirai Sushi and Bob San Sushi are a few blocks from each other, and both offer a pleasant outdoor experience and excellent sushi. Bob San has the nicer outdoor space, and lower prices.

    this thread has good info...

You can sit outside at Naniwa too (Wells/Ohio), and it's not too expensive.

If you go there, try to sit toward the center of the space rather than near the sidewalk. Despite the restaurant's best efforts to chase them away, patrons of the the outdoor space at Bob San are often pestered by street people begging for money.
