Hi, everyone!
I am moving from New York to Chicago in 2 weeks or so. I was looking for a Japanese grocery store on line, and found this forum. I will be moving to Loop, which means I don't have any place to buy anything. Need help!! Is there any good farmer's market near or in loop?
I also need to know where I can shop good seafood. I usually buy in China Town in NY. Is China Town good to shop in Chicago???
I love love oysters, so I need to find a right place to go so that I won't miss NY...
I know i put too much questions here. Hope I hear from you!
Thank you!!

The city of Chicago web site has really annoying long URLs. When you post one like that here, I suggest that you use tags.

type a short description and you'll get a link that won't stretch the width of the page so as to require scrolling.

Bob, there is a large, well stocked Mitsuwa grocery on Algonquin Road in Arlington Heights. Chicago has a good Chinatown though not as big as New York's Chinatown.

There are also several good purveyors of fish and oysters around town. Dirks in Lincon Park is outstanding and Fish Guy on Elston is ok.

I made the move that you are making three years ago. Learn to appreciate Chicago for what it is, a great town with friendly people and some pretty darn good food options.

There's a lot to love about Chicago.
