Found this in my yard today.
I'm guessing it's Physarum polycephalum, but maybe the mycologists on here can tell me more.
I don't think I'll try eating it.

I'm not sure what the name of it is, but you can make up a solution of bleach and water, squirt it on it, and it will kill it.

That's a good question. I don't kill it anymore. It just sort of dies a natural death. However, a lot of people get freaked out by it.

It often grows in mulch.

Funny - our side garden (also used by our dogs) occasionally gets it, and I'd confused it for just that.
