Cock Robin anyone?

Anyone been to the Cock Robin ice cream parlor in Brookfield?

They have been there for a long while but I also heard that they r the last store left of a chain. Is this place worth the trip?

YES! The place is definitely worth the trip. Ice cream and food are above average (not great but better than usual) and you can't beat the small town, quaint atmosphere you get from service there.

There used to be a Cock Robin across the way from Gene's and Jude's which has gone the way of the wrecking ball and is truly ashame.

Yes, it is.

I grew up with a Cock Robin in my hometown of Berwyn - I remember that their food, for fast food, was really quite good and the ice cream was great too.

It's noted all over the place at the Brookfield location that the ice cream is Petersen's but it's still served in the square scoops.

Anyone know if the hamburgers are the same? Nothing
to speak of compared to greats, about the size of a
regular McD but had a good taste and would be available
plain or dressed, like cafferteria style.

Did Cock Robin ever have an Arlington Heights location on Northwest Hwy between Euclid and Wilke? I remember going there as a toddler in the early 80s, but I don't recall the name. Square scoops seem to ring a bell, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know what I am talking about? What was it called?

wow..didnt think there were any Cock Robins left. Use dto go to the one on Harlem in River Forest . They had what was probably the worst burger to be had called a Steakburger. Ice Cream was good though. Before it became a Cock robin it was a Prince Castle (early 60's)
