If you followed the recent thread on Silver Seafood, you know that I have a lot to learn about the vast universe that is Hong Kong cuisine, including how and what to order. In an effort to improve myself--while simultaneously stuffing myself silly with Chinese food--I asked kuhdo if he would meet me at SS and impart some wisdom, knowledge, and good advice. He graciously agreed.

We settled on dinner on Saturday, May 30th. We haven't picked a time yet. [Edit: check my most recent post: it's now set for 6:30 pm] And although we haven't definitely settled on the number of people we can comfortably accommodate at a single table, I'm guessing about a dozen (plus or minus). So, if you'd like to learn more from an expert (or just stuff yourself silly), sign up here and we can learn together.

(Oh, by the way, though details of the peace accord will await the event, I think we have agreed on the shape of the tables.)

    GB,

An event not to be missed, G Wiv +1 please.

Quick question, if SS is off that night where are we going for the Kuhdo?

    Enjoy,
    Gary

I'm always up for the furtherance of peace and learning--and stuffing oneself with Chinese food. 1, please.

Consider this a bump. Also, a setting of time: 6:30 pm.

At this moment, we still have a few open spaces. [However, at this later, edited, moment, we are full up. We ARE taking names for the waiting list, though.] Our attendee list includes:

    kuhdo + 2 (?)
    Gypsy Boy
    Nicinchic +1
    tarte tatin
    leek + 1
    stagger
    mejiro

    WAITING LIST
    GWiv + 1

If you're interested in learning more about Hong Kong cuisine and learning tips about how to order from a pro (that would be kuhdo), come join us. It promises to be a great evening.

    Hope to see you!

I am responding only to keep getting the emails... we may head out of town that evening... otherwise we will join. Don't hold the spots if others can commit.

We are at our limit. However, please note the caveat in Peter (pdaane's) post, above. If someone is interested and can commit to being there, we'll take you and make Peter number one on the waitlist. All others, of course, are also welcome to join the waitlist.

I am going to bow out. Chances are about 83.7% we are heading North for the weekend.

    GB,

Please change my bride and I from a fer-sure to maybe. I am cooking 225 steaks for the Salvation Army that day, should be done in time for the Silver Seafood soiree, but will likely be worn out, plus there may be "quality control testing" required.

    Enjoy,

    Bump.

This is a reminder to all who are on the list: we'll meet at SS just before 6:30 pm. We have a formal reservation for 12. Weather permitting--as I believe it shall--I'll loiter aimlessly outside the restaurant (looking somewhat like this), point-and-shoot in hand, looking desperate for companionship.

A cautionary note...you can park in the lot next door, but be sure to get a card to put on your dashboard from the restaurant and don't leave the area to wander after dinner or you may be towed.
