Some in this Yelp thread opined that the best use of the site is to find "undiscovered" potential gems with but one or two reviews. I'm plannning to see if that works at Chinese Kitchen-Oriental Taste. Perhaps it's related to this Chinese Kitchen, which sounds like it would be a good thing.

    Other researchers care to join?

Believe it or not, I had food from there in December, though I didn't order it or have a look at the menu. My grandma lives right across 63rd in a little subdivision. Of course, the fam had pre-ordered standards (think Sweet and Sour Chicken and fried rice) which were competent but didn't hint at the congee / char siu comfort foods that the Yelp reviews mention.

I wish you much luck - wish I could be there!

I only work about a mile from this place, and have thought about trying it for lunch, I have yet to make it in, with Lao Sze Chuan, Fabulous Noodles, and Katy's so close I have been reluctant to take a chance on an unknown.

I cant make it, but I will be very interested to see how this turns out.

    Kenny -

One other thought. If you're that close (literally right across the street), visit not my grandma (though she'd welcome you) but Bernard's Cafe:

    http://www.yelp.com/biz/bernards-cafe-willowbrook

This is a unique place with hardcore traditional Tuscan and Calabrese right alongside American deli and brick oven pizza, in an overly bright and sunny room. They make many of their own breads. Half the items are ho-hum (pastas), and half (salads, panini, homemade sausage loaf, specials) are really special. Anything on the cold side of the menu would probably impress you. It's kind of like Freddy's-cum-Myrtle Beach.

cool, sounds like lunch at Chinese-Oriental, then business meeting, then stop at Bernards to pick something up for the ride home.

looks like I'm on my own, so I have edited the OP to remove the time. I'm still planning to go, but will wander in whenever instead of committing to a time. Is someone does still want to join, please PM.

delicious, but I called an audible and went to an old stand-bye, el Gallo Tono for a chorizo huarache. Lunch in the suburbs another day.
