This is kind of last-minute, but I'm working out of the office tomorrow and decided I want to trek out to Oak Park and finally visit Marion Street Market. I'm thinking I'll sit down to a little breakfast at the cafe before doing some shopping. Anyone want to join me? Cafe and Market open at 8am, which is when I plan to get there.

Sharon, I'm 96% sure I can join. Great idea.

Wishing you both good eats and good luck in general this month. I am taking care of the kiddo in the morning and he's not quite up for truffled egg salad or toasted ham and cheese yet (which is what I like to order at 8 AM, when I'm awake and out of the house).

I think I'm going to take Metra out to Oak Park, and my train would get in right before 8 for Rob or anyone else who can meet for breakfast.

Santander, I'm sorry I'll miss you. This is just the first of what I hope will be several food-related visits out to the People's Republic of Oak Park this spring. I intended my first visit this year to be an all-day one by bike, but the weather isn't cooperating. My jaunt by Metra tomorrow is a small act of defiance to the weather gods who apparently can keep me off my bike but not away from good cheese. I hope to see you on one or more of my next visits, and I look forward to the day when I can join the kiddo for truffled egg salad.

Sharon, if you stick around all day, you can hit the winter market this afternoon. Deails here: http://www.thelocalbeet.com/?p=1378
