That time of the year again. The Dippin Dogs will be $1.25 vs the $2.25 reg price and if there is any interest, we can do the Luther Burger again but I'm thinking a scaled down version of it.

I kind of liked Steve Z's amped up version using an apple fritter from Old Fashioned Donut as the Luther's bun. It could be cut into portions. Think of the pictures!

Seems like an oxymoron - a scaled down Lutherburger. Maybe you should also make it low-fat?!

Seriously, though, I'd be there like batter on a corn dog if I wasn't going to be out of town....
Did you know there is an LTHforum Flickr group? I just found it...

btw - I was in Houston a couple of months ago and ate battered pickled jalapenos which I thought were fantastic. Possibly another addition to your menu :)

I may be out of town, but if not I will definitely be there ready to share my Luther burger.

OK, who's planning to go and when? Sparky and I will be there at lunchtime, maybe noon or so? (the spouse is on shift.) We may be bringing other family as well...

If the line @ Hot Dougs is too long I will trek on up to Evanston.

I may bring the kids, it's been far too long since they have been there. Will you have the falafel burger, Gus? Claire is still sticking to her vegetarian guns for the time being.

Yes we do have the falafel.

I hope no one will be disappointed but I have decided against having the luther burger at this event this year.

That rightfully highlights the focus of the celebration on the marveous corndog!

Sparky will be sad...but frankly, I don't feel the need to eat one again. Was glad to try it last year, though!

That's a good one! Well, I suppose it all depends on how you define "too long," but I've never seen a Saturday line at HD's that wasn't too long for me.

So, for the uninitiated, what is a Lutherburger anyway?

Edit: Nevermind. I searched and found. I'm pretty open minded, but yuck. We will try to make it for corn doggy goodness.

I am planning on getting there @ 10:15, so Ill see. A corn Dog does sound good though, however the additional miles up to Evanston do not. Either way Im pretty flexible & may do it simply for the LTH company, and to try a new GNR.
