Have a brief trip to town upcoming and would love the opportunity to break bread with some of my long lost LTH brethren (and sistren).

I'll be meeting G Wiv at noon, any and all are welcome.

If interest is high, I'll call to give them a heads up. As of now, we've got (updated as I'm able):

    Hi,

I hope to be closing in on Baltimore when you begin to break bread.

    Another time!

    Regards,

Where is Tampopo? Somehow it is not on my radar.
Toast, as every breakfaster knows, isn't really about the quality of the bread or how it's sliced or even the toaster. For man cannot live by toast alone. It's all about the butter. -- Adam Gopnik

    Gary,

Korean run Japanese, terrific homestyle, best agidashidofu in town, solid sushi and very reasonable prices. Add in a friendly interactive owner, comfortable space and you have one of my favorites in town.

Lots of scattered mentions all over LTHForum, here is one, Tampopo

And, yes, it's named after the Juzo Itami's Tampopo

    Hope to see you there.

    Enjoy,
    Gary

    LTH,

Three of us had a terrific lunch, agidashidofu, really is the best in town, and I very much enjoyed my cold soba noodle topped with tempura.

Very nice, indeed. Also had, among other things, some smoked salmon skin maki and roasted salmon bones, which pretty much seemed like salmon rib tips. Both quite nice and rather new tasted to me. Not sure if they're on the menu, frequently available, or what, but worth seeking out. I've always enjoyed Tampopo and was surprised to find so little about it on the board; I guess much of the discussion dates back to the Chowhound days.
