Can't make it this year, darn. The rose and the drunken custard paczkis were some of the most delicious things I have ever eaten.

Another year that I cannot make it to the Paczki Extravaganza! Unfortunately, I am committed to attend an Oscar Party that night for which I have to make a dish so I'll be cooking as you're frying up luscious paczki . . .

    RSVPed for this Extravaganza:

    irisarbor
    CrazyC
    The GP

Although that means more paczki for us, it sounds like Cookie Monster has room for several more.

Cookie Monster: what's the latest someone could RSVP for this?

Shoot, really enjoyed the Cookie Exchange, cannot make it, brunch at Barn of Barrington that day. I am sure I will be stuffed as I could be and will drag myself home to the couch (couch: favorite digestive aid). Have fun everyone.

I'm seriously hyped up on sugar and delicious Hawaiian coffee from the Paczki Extravaganza. Many thanks to Cookie Monster for hosting this. It was a pleasure meeting irisarbor, CrazyC, Mrs. Villamickey and daughter, plus some friends of LTH and Dobra. What a fun afternoon! The pictures say it better than I could:

Hopefully irisarbor and CrazyC will share their photos of the things I missed. I have to go climb the walls now.

Sorry Work has been such a drag that it has really been interfering with my foodlife! LOL
Here are my photos from last weekend's festivities-
As you can see, here and above I had a great time, and my family really LOVED the goodies I brought home!

Cookie Monster welcomes us into her domain...

    Image
Delicious chocolate financier cakes await us yummmmmm

    Image
followed shortly by french macaroons filled with fudge and marzipan

    Image
We start by rolling out chrusciki (angel wings) in wonderful sheeter machine...
The whole place smells fabulous like lemon oil

    Image
Here is a close up of how we twist the little wings

    Image
and then it's back to the giant fryer, where the master frys em up, gently turning them when halfway done.

    Image
The finished product, ready to be gobbled up, by twin sons everywhere...

    Image
On to the paczki, here they are in the proofing box, finishing their rise.

    Image
Here I am, a happy cook at the fry station.

    Image
GP and Villamickey's daughter, a great glazing team

The finished product ready for happy bellies everywhere.
These were so good, words can't do them justice.
    Enjoy the pics.
