PACZKI EXTRAVAGANZA

The date is Februaru 22 at 1PM.
This will be only open to about 15-18 people.
We will fry paczki and angel's wings ( or chrusciki as we call them)
There will be a couple to taste and a dozen to take home, along with a half a pound of angel's wings.
The cost is $30 per person, please mail payments to

Unfortunately, I am committed to attend an Oscar Party that night for which I have to make a dish so I'll be cooking as you're frying up luscious paczki . . .

Post #21 - February 22nd, 2009, 5:24 pmI'm seriously hyped up on sugar and delicious Hawaiian coffee from the Paczki Extravaganza. Many thanks to Cookie Monster for hosting this. It was a pleasure meeting irisarbor, CrazyC, Mrs. Villamickey and daughter, plus some friends of LTH and Dobra. What a fun afternoon! The pictures say it better than I could:

As you can see, here and above I had a great time, and my family really LOVED the goodies I brought home!

Cookie Monster welcomes us into her domain...
Delicious chocolate financier cakes await us yummmmmm
followed shortly by french macaroons filled with fudge and marzipan
We start by rolling out chrusciki (angel wings) in wonderful sheeter machine...
The whole place smells fabulous like lemon oil
Here is a close up of how we twist the little wings
and then it's back to the giant fryer, where the master frys em up, gently turning them when halfway done.
The finished product, ready to be gobbled up, by twin sons everywhere...
On to the paczki, here they are in the proofing box, finishing their rise.
Here I am, a happy cook at the fry station.
