    LTHers,

I'm planning to dine solo at the bar at the Bristol this evening. My Julia Child book is good company, but I'll put her away if any LTHers care to join. I should get there between 5:45 and 6.

I need to pick up some spiffy new glasses sort of in that 'hood, so I'd be happy to join you. Probably closer to 6.

I have been wishing to try the Bristol. Traffic permitting, I will be there between 5:45 and 6:00.

Well, you missed a hell of a dinner. More (hopefully including pictures) later.

My gratitude to Kennyz for organizing this dinner and exposing me to Bristol, which is as close as Chicago comes to Fergus Henderson's St Johns (London): eating from tail to snout. Chicken hearts that could break your heart. Beef marrow. Sweetbreads that weren't prepared like a corn dog. And $50/each for the four of us for about twelve different dishes and cocktails.

Big thanks to jesteinf, JermAngela, and GAF for a fun evening of delicious food and outstanding company. It was a nice surprise to have such excellent dinner companions after a very last-minute post. I've commented a bit on our meal in the main thread.

So it was YOU guys that ate up all the hearts! We went last night (Fri) and the host let us know they were already out of the hearts (at 7 pm).
