Sorry for the late posting on this, but I got busy working on other
lunch-
related posts and this news got pushed back. Anyway, if you've seen those orange and white ads jutting out of local taxis lately (offering to give you a "lift" of some sort), then you're probably aware of the push ING Direct is making for more banking customers in the Chicagoland area these days. What's important to us (okay, maybe just me) is that they're sponsoring free lunch this Friday at
the Wiener's Circle from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M.
According to
ING's Cash Cow web site, a free lunch is equivalent to a hot dog and drink, with a limit of one free meal per person (while supplies last). Of course, you could go to Fast Track (on 629 W. Lake St.) or George's (on 1876 N. Damen Ave.) -- the other participating locations -- instead, but I know that I'll be at 2622 N. Clark St. Friday morning for the beginning of what could be a very good (and very cheap) meal. If yer interested in comparing impressions, or trying their char-broiled cheddarburgers, stop on by about 11 A.M. or so, as I imagine the lunchtime crush might be a little more intense than usual that day.
Other ING events include a free coffee drip from three downtown LavAzza locations Thursday (that's tomorrow!) from 6 A.M. to 10 A.M. -- check the Cash Cow site for more -- as well as free parking at participating Park 1 locations till 6 P.M. today (which could possibly indirectly tie in with food in the end). All I'm interested in, however, is finding a great and inexpensive excuse to try the best that the Circle has to offer. Best Buy on Clark should be nearby if your conscience might be soothed by turning this into a combo shopping/browsing trip.
At any rate, good luck in adjusting your Friday lunch plans, and I hope to see you (someone? ...anybody??

) there!
