dinner at ed's potsticker Thurs. Aug. 17th

i was looking at gwiv's pix from a meal at ed's, and it brought on a craving for their greasy but delicious scallion and porkbelly pancake, among other treats. so i thought i would propose a dinner there- i was thinking wednesday, august 9. i've been off the board for a long while and look forward to meetiing some of the folks i only know by their posts.

as of sunday there are only 2 of us committed. anyone else interested? if not, maybe we should reschedule when more people are available. justjoan

Joan, count me in as well. They are like 2 blocks away from me, so there is no reason why I don't go.

As a former definite maybe, I have to bow out, although it sounds like a good time.

Unfortunately, I can't make it on the 9th. But if there's another gathering there in the future with an early-ish (6/6:30) start time, let me know - I've been only once but dining alone it's hard to try too many things.

justjoan-- Oops! I have to bow out for this Wednesday as well. I would love to attend the rescheduled event if this week's dinner does not go forward, though. Scallion pancakes rule.

this is a good time, now that josephine is bowing out, to cancel wednesday night's plans. we can try again when there is more interest. so dinner is officially off. thanks to those few who expressed interest. justjoan

Hi, Joan, ironically, I wanted to mention that it was a bad day for me but had to wait until this morning to confirm that. The point of mentioning that is, pencil me in as interested for a rescheduled evening.

yes, lets reschedule. there are 6 including me who expressed interest. that's surely enough to have a good meal and good company. in fact, that is the perfect size, IMO, to allow for sharing and for easy conversation. what's a good night for the rest of you? some possible nights for me would be the 16th, 17th, 22d. i prefer midweek, but am flexible. justjoan

The White Sox play at home the night of the 16th, so that might not be a good idea parking-wise. I'm available the 17th (the game is at 1pm that day) but away on the 22nd. I prefer midweek as well, as I live out in DuPage but work downtown.

Joan - I'm away in California on the 22nd. But that's ok, if that date turns out to be better for everybody else, I'm sure there will be a next time.

mike, it'd be great to see you; it's been a while. why don't we tentatively plan on august 17. the 22d is getting close to my vacation and i'll probably be very busy. is it just you, mike, or your family as well? threadkiller is available on the 17th. how about lee and bob s. and jay and josephine and nr706, who also expressed interest? justjoan

I don't think so. I've only been to one Manny's LTH lunch (last week). Of course, my memory could be failing me.
