Hi if anyone knows it'll be great. I am looking for some packaged scallop shells or clam shells for my baked scallops recipe. I asked most of my food distributors they don't carry them. Did anyone purchase them from anywhere before?

Dirk's has been known to sell scallops in the shell, if that's any help to you.

I found my supply in one of the hobby stores in the South suburbs about 10 years ago... Not much help but craft places sometimes carry sea shells....

I use mine to serve broiled bay scallops in a lemon-thyme butter sauce
the scallop shells sit on a bed of kosher salt

The last restaurant I worked at the owner's got just plain shells package in a plastic bag...just the dry shells...and they can be used over and over again. Too bad I didn't know where he got those from.

My local Cost Plus - World Market sells them. There appear to be many in your area. I would give them a call.

Yeah -- I saw these shells just a few days ago at the Cost Plus-World Market on Golf in Schaumburg, and I'm sure other World Markets carry them. World Market is a surprisingly fun place for foodies to browse -- great selection of teas, coffees, spices, wine, candy, sauces, and fun imports. And a fair number of cooking utensils, to boot.
