I like media: print, video, radio, internet…and now texting. Recently, I started working with a Boston-based company called 80108 (and you thought this forum had an obscure name!). Every week, 80108 sends out three text messages from me about food in Chicago. Honestly, if you read LTHForum, you probably know much more than most people about what’s going on vis a vis Chi chow (and so may be in less need of this service), but if you happen to sign up for 80108, I’d love to get your feedback either posted here or in an email.

Note that normal texting charges apply (in the case of my admittedly idiotic phone plan, it costs me 15 cents every time I get a text message).

I am under contract with 80108, and they pay me enough every month to get maybe two bottles of pretty good wine. I am interested in the possibilities of texting technology…and very interested in your opinions of this service.
