Bag Hunger Auction 2007

The 14th Annual Bag Hunger Auction is Wednesday, October 24, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

Created 14 years ago to bring together Chicago's culinary industry to help fight hunger in our community, the annual Bag Hunger Auction celebrates the city's hospitality and culinary diversity while raising money to feed the more than 500,000 men, women and children in Cook County who turn to the Greater Chicago Food Depository for food each year. Over 30 of Chicago’s top chefs prepare savory creations, and live and silent auctions feature an array of travel packages, gift certificates and other enticing prizes.

This year's chef chairs are Gale Gand of Tru and Gale's Coffee Bar, Ina Pinkney of Ina's and Susan Goss of West Town Tavern. Because of the generosity of our chefs and auction donors, and the hundreds of volunteers who help us plan this event, more than 1 million meals are provided by the proceeds from the Bag Hunger Auction. Tickets are $125 through 5 p.m. on Oct. 22. Tickets sold at the door on Oct. 24 are $150.

The Bag Hunger Auction is presented by title sponsors CDW and JPMorgan Chase. Other sponsors include Chicago Magazine, Genesis Press, United, Walter E. Smithe Furniture and WGN TV.
