You betcha! You are now #1 on the wait list. :)

I'm crossing my fingers that something opens up. (Although it would means someone else couldn't come  .) I typically have a meeting on the First Monday of the month, except for during the summer, so this would be my only opportunity as I'll be out of town during August. If I do make it in, are you looking towards light summer desserts, or would something decadent be welcome as well?

I think we can handle one more. Why don't you come too? Since we already discussed the idea of scaling recipes down a bit, we shouldn't be overloaded.

As for types of desserts, decadent is always welcome, but make whatever your heart desires.

I will bring banana ice cream. It's early enough, I can get bananas now to overripen.

Okay, the menu has been set. I'm making Honey Cardamom Ice Cream for my dessert, and for dinner it's a choice between two soups: Balinese Vegetable and Cream of Mushroom with Tarragon.

    Hi,

I am somewhat reluctant to bring a second ice cream. What if I made homemade pop tarts instead?

great idea cathy. i wouldnt tell anyone NOT to bring ice cream, but since the plan is for us to be able to take desserts home, rather than try to eat them all at the party, i think a dessert that transports better than ice cream makes sense. i still dont know what i'm making. i think it'll be a last minute decision. jj

You have a point. So I'm for sure making Pistachio Vanilla Lemon Shortbread but I have some cardamom honey ice cream on hand, so that can be the side if anyone wants some.

i'm making something with white peaches, my favorite summer fruit. either a puff paste pie, or a cobbler, not sure yet.... (edited to add): i'm making peach cobbler with cardomom so it will positively scream out for some homemade honey cardomom ice cream on the side (though i'm bringing clabbered cream to top it as well) justjoan

I went out and bought a dessert wine and a white and realized afterward that I only have 4 wine glasses. Can somebody bring a few more? Thanks!

I made a cherry cornmeal upsidedown cake. I realized shortly after I put it in the oven that i had forgotten to fold in the beaten egg whites. It was too late to start over, so I went ahead and baked it and it came out looking and smelling good, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

As a backup, I made some grownup jello shots: anise hyssop, lemon and gin.

cathy, i'll bring a little extra of my pseudo clabbered cream (sour cream whipped with whipping cream) so if eli wants to 'enhance' his upside down cake, there will be enough. unless eli responds otherwise, of course. joan
