The role of +1 this evening will be played by Steve Z instead of the lovely Ellen.

    See you there!

    Hi,

As a public service, could someone take pictures or obtain a copy of the menu? The translated menu link on reference is broken. This would be a wonderful opportunity to get a copy scanned in to post and repair it.

    Thanks!

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Drat...I have been foiled by the husband's absentminded ways. He just informed me that we have an out of town guest arriving in less than an hour. :x

I'm sorry to say, I will be unable to make it this evening, my apologies for the late notice.

My +1 just is no longer able to make it, I'm afraid. I'll be there. Anyone who wants to join, please do so.

A quick thanks to everyone who came out last night. Sticky Rice (and G Wiv and his ordering) took good care of our group, and it was quite the feast. Extra treats were seeing Josephine and sitting outside with plates of cake (and friends) at Beograd after dinner.

Stomach and I are thrilled that Sticky Rice is back up and running and as good as ever.

A great first meal at Sticky Rice. For me, the highlights were the nam prik, the papaya salad, and the mussel fritter. RAB and I will definitely be back.

Thanks to happy_stomach for organizing and GWiv for ordering.

Had an excellent time at the newly spiffy Sticky Rice. Thanks to Sharon for organizing the evening. Seeing polished floors and new staff who speak perfect English, I was worried that Sticky Rice might have cleaned up its image so much that they'd lost their soul. Not so. Northern Thai sausage was hotter than ever, though it was a tad dry for some people (I actually like that dry texture, especially when contrasted with the much moister Issan-style sausage. Northern larb had more funky pig liver bits than ever, and Coconut Green Curry Shrimp was still served tiki-bar style in a hollowed out coconut shell (unfortunately, this dish isn't ideal for sharing, and you really need little bowls or spoons to make it worthwhile at all to order it for a group. My attempt to get the server to bring us share bowls was a failure.). Everything on Friday seemed to be chopped, diced, or julienned with just a little more precision and finesse than what I remember from the past. As long as they keep the flavors amped up, I'm fine with those Arun's-like* touches.

    *big overstatement

We had dinner here last night. Started with grilled pork and roti gaeng kari. Pork was nice but it was a tad dry and just not as amazing as TAC's pork neck though both were the same cut. The roti was delicious, a alight massaman curry with chickens, onions, and potatoes.

Fifille had the red curry with roast duck. This was simply fantastic, bright and delicious flavors. The bamboo shoots were particularly good.

I had the gang hung lay which is a stewed pork with ginger and garlic. It's good but a much simpler dish than the curry. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
I used to think the brain was the most important part of the body. Then I realized who was telling me that.

Completely agree. This particular dish at SR pales in comparison to TAC's rendition.
