This is proposed as an open and recurring event, to repeat each Wednesday evening at Dunlay's on the Square for $5.00 burger night (time TBD by the participants). Join right in, y'all! Just PM me with your preferred time window if you want to go any particular Wednesday. Call it a standing date; I'm sold on the (damn) place and find myself downing a (damn well-mixed) Manhattan, one of their (damnably cooked to medium-rare) burgers and possibly one of their (damnably well-selected) beers every Wednesday, despite my better (effete snooty-pants dilettante) sense. Mrs. JiLS can usually participate after 10:00 p.m. Join us, won't you?

If RAB hadn't had lunch at Dunlay's yesterday (another great burger), we'd join you tonight. Look for a PM in the next few weeks - - Especially if the weather's nice and we can dine outside.

Cathy2 and friend joined me and Mrs. JiLS last night for the inaugural Stockholm Syndrome Wednesday, which was by all accounts a success. In addition to the $5.00 burgers (which were very good, as usual), we spiced things up a bit with some appetizers, including the smoked salmon I've mentioned before, as well as a ceviche, which is new on Dunlay's menu. Done with mango and olives and a plethora of other treats, this little surprise was served in a citrusy marinade so good that it demanded to be swigged straight out of the bowl; which, at last, it was, by one of our number (sorry, no pictures). Place was hopping at 7:30 on a Wednesday, even had a crowd outside in the stifling heat. In addition to the food and fun, we all played our favorite game, Six Degrees of Separation, to establish our degrees of separation from Jeffrey Dahmer. Having now firmly and definitively established that, for myself, this is "three degrees," I can mark one big item off my bucket list.

    Hi,

We definitely enjoyed the food as well as the lively art of conversation. Here is my blue cheese topped medium rare hamburger withe artfully arranged pickles on the bun:

In our seeking connections to historical figures, I enjoy my WW2 link: 2 degrees to the tank leaders Patton and Rommel.

    Regards,
    Cathy2
