Marion Street Cheese Market has sold these amazing sparkling wines from Michigan since we opened the business nearly five years ago. Maybe you've tried one (Talismon, Sex, Blanc de Blanc)? Well, the man behind these wines, Larry Mawby, will be joining us next Tuesday for a four-course dinner, in which he'll be hand-selecting the pairings for each dish. Here's the deal:
What: A special four-course dinner (see menu below), expertly paried with L. Mawby sparkling wines from the Leelanau Peninsula. Mr. Mawby will present each pairing and also discuss winemaking throughout the evening.
Menu:
Cheese Course: Benton Harbor (MI) Reny Picot, Food For Thought (MI) Blueberry Lavender Preserves, Potter's (WI) Classic Wheat Crackers
Course 2: House Cured Trout, Zingerman's (MI) Cream Cheese, Watercress, Lemon Vinigrette, Everything Bagel Chips
Course 3: Mussels en Brodo, Leeks, Potatoes, Celery, Champagne-Fennel Broth
Course 4: Goat Cheesecake, Brown Butter Crust, Blackberries, Candied Pecans
Cost: $50 gets you all four courses, each with Mr. Mawby's wine pairings.
When: Tuesday, May 19. Mr. Mawby will begin the four-course meal with an introduction at 7pm.
