Chicago Food Policy Advisory Council, April 8Edible Change! Creating Networks for Policy Action
The fourth annual Chicago Food Policy Advisory Council will bring together a wide group of stakeholders from public and private organizations to community based activists to discuss strategies to further the development of policies that support a culturally appropriate, nutritionally sound, affordable and sustainable local food system. The summit will be held downtown at the Chicago Cultural Center.
• Hear updates on national, state, and local food policy initiatives
• Join a working group for change- topics include urban agriculture, farm to school, food access, healthy communities, farmers markets, civic engagement and more...
• Learn about policy strategies to address economic and health inequities in communities of color
• Meet young people engaged in the movement
• Represent your neighborhood
• Listen to Chef Rick Bayless on the importance of supporting family farmers and cultural food traditions
• Share a delicious meal of local and organic food
• Network; share information & advance your knowledge and power
