Chicken and beef grilled over live charcoal... falafel that sparkles with brightness and sincerity... a grimy strip mall in the middle of nowhere... yes, it's Al-bawadi Mediterranean Grill, self-proclaimed to be
one of the ten best middle-eastern restaurants in Bridgeview, and in my personal opinion a lot better than that.
Who is brave enough to join me and at least one other LTHer there for lunch tomorrow, that's right, Wednesday 2/11 at straight up noon? Respond in this thread, or just show up. Really, it's no harder to get to than Chuck's, since it's about a mile from it. (Probably easier, actually, as Harlem moves faster than Cicero.) Take the Stevenson/55 to Harlem, south on Harlem to 87th, turn right onto 87th, it's just past Lindy's/Gertie's in the former Arby's or Taco Bell or whatever it was (they said Arby's to me once, but I think Taco Bell is correct).
