For those of you who are fans of the cuisine of Patrick Chabert (long-time souschef to Jean Banchet at Le Francais, and now a caterer in Buffalo Grove), below is the schedule of fixed-price dinners for the first half of 2009. These dinners are $75, all inclusive (includes wine, tip, and tax -- but cash or check only, at this low cost).

Also, I've been asked by a few folks if we are going to plan another "over the top" dinner, like we had last year with Patrick ( viewtopic.php?f=19&t=16832&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=Patrick+Chabert&start=90 ). Let me know if you'd be interested in having me set up something like this again.

But even though you won't have as wild a dinner at the regular monthly dinners, that doesn't mean it won't still be sensational. Here's a site where a few members commented on a couple of the monthly dinners: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=4815&hilit=Patrick+Chabert

Of course, we can always get a group together, should folks want to be surrounded with LTHers at the dinner.

And so, for this year, here's Patrick's schedule:

The following schedule covers January 17th through July 12th 2009, please mark your calendar.

Dates for future Saturday Night Dinners:
    (Dinner begins at 7 pm)
    January 17th
    February 14th
    March 14th
    April 18th
    May 16th
Bastille Day Celebration Dinner Sunday, July 12th at 5:30 pm
(Cost of this Dinner is $70 all inclusive)

Please call to reserve a seat for yourself, a table for you and your friend(s) or a group. Check or cash is accepted. To R.S.V.P. for such events you can e-mail me at [email protected] or leave a cell phone message at 312 215-4688).

If possible, please provide me [Patrick] with your e-mail address for future information on dinners and events.

Saturday night dinners will be held at Berruti’s restaurant in Buffalo Grove. The restaurant is located at 771 S. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089 (north of the northeast corner of Dundee and Buffalo Grove Road). Cost is $75.00 per person, all inclusive. (5 course dinner with wine).

Thanks for posting the info Cynthia. My wife and I would go to Le Francais once a year for my birthday. Since it's closing we sorely miss the level of food served there.

    thanks for posting the information.

If you remember Le Français, I think you'll love Patrick Chabert's food. Chabert and Jean Banchet remain friends, and sometimes, Banchet drops in and acts as Patrick's sous chef. So the food remains at an incredibly high level. The ambiance of Berutti's may leave something to be desired, but the food is glorious.

I missed the January dinner, but hope to make February. Anyone interested in joining me?

Also, we still have the option of creating a special LTH dinner, like the one we did last year. I've had two people ask me if we'll do it again, but we need at least 20. So is there any interest? Or should I just let this die? (Hard to do, with the memory of that foie gras, that lobster, that caviar creme with double duck consomme and osetra caviar. Sigh.)

    Let me know.
