On Saturday nights, it sometimes gets crazy with Russian music and dancing. The borsht and blinis are on the menu, but it's not purely Russian (unless their "1/2 BBQ Baby Back ribs and 1/2 BBQ Chicken" is authentically Russian).

We'll order off the reasonable menu (most expensive entree is $21, and portions are large - I expect considerable sharing).

I haven't been there in some time. I remember the Russian specialties being very flavorful ... but the lively scene is easily as good as the food.

The more LTHers, the better the evening will be.

    Da, cha cha cha.

Though I must--reluctantly--be somewhat less than completely certain, I am optimistic and will do everything in my power to bend the will of the world in such manner and fashion as to allow me to attend.

    Hi,

I have a meeting at 4 PM that may bleed into dinner. I will stop by, though it may be for a drink.

    Regards,

I doubt the group will be leaving especially early. See you there.

Ack! It has just become apparent that I will not be able to make it tonight after all. I had been scheming but it's now a no-go. I do hope that by bumping this great event, I will perhaps interest some others in attending. I expect it to be a good time and a lot of fun--entertaining both culturally and gastronomically. My apologies to all and I look forward to hearing what a great time I missed. :(

    Hi,

I will be MIA. I bought 27 pounds to roma tomatoes and maybe 20 pounds of Concord grapes that need to be canned or frozen ASAP.

    Sorry!

    Regards,
    Cathy2

With several people unable to make it, and knowing that Zhivago is better with larger groups, we'll try to reschedule this event in the next month or so ... maybe after everyone's eaten at all the GNR nominees.

Bumped to re-schedule to January 10. After the excitement (or drudgery) of the holidays has worn off, let's celebrate with a good LTH turnout for Russian, semi-Russian, and other foods, along with music and dancing, in Skokie.

Were you able to get a group for Zhivago? Unfortunately, I had Bulls tickets that night. Given how poorly the played against the worst team in the league, it really was unfortunate.

Didn't get any response, so it didn't happen. If there's any interest, I'd be happy to re-reschedule, but we'd need a group of at least five or six to make it worthwhile.
