    Hi,

Jewel in Highland Park has Kosher Coke still available. It is now in the soda aisle with the yellow caps.

Last week's WOD Gonella rolls were used for Italian Beef and later pepper and egg sandwiches. They really are, "Swella fella."

My Dad commented he did not understand why I bought those rolls, he then remembered I did not. It's a scene probably played out in lots of homes where mymixx, WOD and Monopoly freebies are collected.

I carried around instant winner gravy coupons for longer than I liked. Every time I attempted to redeem it, there was no gravy packets. I can see where tomato sauce could be short, too.

I've finally cashed in my tomato sauce; the gravy mix I've been handing to my mother-in-law -- I wouldn't ever use such a product. The other one that was elusive for me is the batteries, it took a number of visits before I found them in stock.

I was just going to post this. I was in New Orleans for jazz fest, and just came home yesterday morning, and my sister's desktop was at Geek Squad for a few days. They had to replace her power supply. She has a plan good for two laptops and one desktop for $200 a year.

Is the Enlightened ice cream that fake low carb ice cream? If it is I will probably pass. I brought back some gulf coast shrimp from NOLA I purchased for $6.99 a pound, and it was good.

I am going to go to Jewel now, and hopefully they will have the tomato sauce in stock. For those people that are still looking for Monopoly game pieces, you should try the Kosher Jewel on Howard. They gave me 125 game pieces one day last year a few days before the game ended. Hope this helps, Nancy

BTW- For anybody that lives out near Elmhurst, the Elmhurst/Yorkville food pantry is accepting unopened Monopoly game pieces. I think they are accepting free coupons too. With all of the game pieces people have been supplying, they have been opening them up, and cashing in on all the winning boards. I assume they have just gotten small prizes. They then turn around and use the Jewel GC and money won to buy toiletries for the food bank, and they also redeem the free coupons. They are located at 1083 York Road in Elmhurst.

The mymixx freebies this weekend I can't get excited about. I got the can of chili yesterday, and hopefully that will be good. I had a free coupon for a 16.9 bottle of refreshe water I was going to redeem yesterday, and I could not find it at the Chicago Avenue Jewel. They had a bunch of salad dressing, pasta and pasta sauce 75% off near the milk. They also had 42 K cups of day to day coffee reduced to $3.99 in the same vicinity. They had lots of salad dressing and coffee left, but the pasta sauce was going fast. I got three bottles of it myself.

I got eight Monopoly tickets yesterday, and the only thing I got that was worth it was a bottle of aspirin which I will end up giving away, and a fandango code. I will be glas when this game is over. Thanks, Nancy

It took me a while to figure how to collect my bottle of water, too. On the shelves, there are never single bottles available. The singlets are in the beverage refrigerators by check-out.

I heard an employee in Mundelein tell another customer that if they couldn't find the Refreshe water bottles, there were Nestle and other brand bottles in a cabinet near the checkout, and that the coupon would be accepted for any of the bottles marked 2/$1.

Well I finally won something good at Jewel today. I won a Lean Cuisine frozen dinner. BTW- for anybody that still has aspirin coupons to redeem, the aspirin is currently B1G1F. They were out of it though when I tried to redeem my coupon. I was hoping I would get lots of game pieces today, but I only got the four that I was owed. I still need 13 Fandango codes to get a second GC. I only have two days to go so I don't know. Last year I got 150 game pieces at the Kosher Jewel on Howard, and I have to have an emissions test done on my car, and so I might have it done tomorrow, and then hit the Jewel in the neighborhood. I looked for the Refreshe water in one of the refrigerated cases near the checkout, and I did not see any water selling for 2/$1.

I've been spending too much time on this game, and I will be glad when it is over. Thanks, Nancy

Now I am told that if they are sold out, the stores are supposed to give you a rain check. They should ring the product and give you the rain check and receipt. When you pick it up you must have both the rain check and the receipt to give to them. I have a feeling that this might be a huge YMMV depending on the store you shop at. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.

    Hi,

Our dinner tonight featured the Crispy Honey Chicken, which reminded us of a gingery Sweet and Sour Pork. We prepared it by reheating in the oven, adding the sauce and heating for a few minutes warm, then straight to the table.

We ate and enjoyed it all before any crispness faded.

    Hi,

Just clipped the coupons for this weekend's MyMixx give away.

Glancing through the coupons, they had one I may do: Buy 20 ounce or more Hellmans, get a 14 ounce Hellman's ketchup for free. You do need to clip the MyMixx coupon to obtain it.

Sorry to have missed this one. I like free food. Only downside I see to this Friday freebie thing is that sometimes it's something really good and then you never see it again. I got free meatballs a few weeks ago that I really enjoyed. Have never seen them again, and when I asked, I was told that it's not uncommon that the free stuff is stuff they've decided not to carry. Still, free food is free food. :)

Has anybody tried the Enlightened ice cream yet? I considered getting the ice cream bars instead, but I figured if I try the ice cream and don't like it, I can have just a few tablespoons at a time and probably tolerate it. I did not get the free dish Friday, because it was not worth my while to make a special trip, and I was worried that the dish had lots of fat in it. I stopped in the Jewel on Green Bay in Wilmette today, but I was going right past there. They had a ton of healthy frozen dinners on clearance.

A customer service manager at the Wilmette Jewel told me about a new policy for MyMixx that began just a few days ago.
In order to get the freebies, you must use the smartphone app. When I tried to claim the freebies using the Jewel website on my laptop computer, the freebies I entered did not register in the stores' system. The Wilmette manager explained that if you don't use the phone app you don't get the freebies.

That seems ridicules as I assume the website or the phone app is using the same database when you login. My parents who are not technical wouldn't have a clue how to use the phone app or website. I add the Saturday MyMixx for them via the website login and when they go shopping they ask the front desk which items are available and pick them up.

I just checked my online account, and it shows that I did claim the freebies before going to the store. I did things the same ways that I had always done, but I couldn't get the freebies.
It could be that there was some sort of technical glitch with the Wilmette store, and the manager was just trying to get rid of me.
I will call the corporate office on Monday to try to get clarification.

I have noticed that in the last couple of weeks I have not been getting the mymixx emails, but when I go to the website I was able to click on the free items. Might go by tomorrow to get them and see if it works or may not bother....not that keen on the enlightened products. Marianos had a small box of fannie May candy as its friday freebie this week.
