Seafood in Western Suburbs

Hello, and thanks to you all for all the useful information I've been exposed to while lurking on this site!
My husband and I are recent additions to the western surburbs, specifically North Aurora. After spending the last 20+ years in San Francisco and the Sonoma County Wine Country I am excited about the different restaurants and food choices here. But tonight, I'm looking for a nice piece of grilled fish, some veggies and a glass of wine! Any suggestions for something in my neck of the woods would be most appreciated.

I have never tried this place but my wife has taken several clients to this restaurant and they have all raved about this.

The restaurant is located west of St. Charles on Rt 47.

Fisherman's Inn is a neat place but their seafood emphasis is on their own farm raised trout which they grow in ponds right on their property.

I should have added that you might like Isabella's in Geneva which features Mediterranean food and has a nice seafood selection. There is also a place in Wheaton, the name escapes me, Catch 120?

You might try the Francesca restaurants (there's one in St. Charles, 1 in downtown Naperville, and a new on in Naperville on Route 59 and maybe 95th Street).

Since you're in North Aurora, Isabella's would be my first choice. My second choice would be the restaurant in the recently-repoened Hotel Baker in St. Charles. The menu is seafood-oriented and is fairly expensive, but most items on the wine list are priced at retail, and that will more than make up for the somewhat high food prices. To give you an example, I recently had the 2002 Archery Summit Premier Cuvee pinot off their list and it was $39. The retail price at most wine shops for this wine is $35-$40...

Man, I am impressed by all the high quality west suburban info from you guys - there was a time when it was just one or two of us.

I am in complete agreement on the recs, too. The place in Wheaton is 120 Ocean Place, but it seems to have been in decline for the last couple of years. My preferred spot these days is Chinn's 34th street, because the fish is quite fresh and the whole place is pretty straightforward, but I have not tried Catch 35 (no interest, too crowded and too chichi), or Isabella's, which I really want to try.

Of all of them, if you are looking for plain grilled fish, Chinn's is probably the choice, but be flexible, accept some olive oil and seasoning and go to Isabella's. Plus it is a bit shorter drive, I think.
