Went here for the second time today and enjoyed a second really good meal. This small Mexican restaurant is on Temple nestled in between Miramar and Carlos' in Highwood. Today I had the
enchiladas poblanas while my wife had tacos of cecina, chorizo and carne asada. My enchiladas were outstanding, the mole sauce very good. All the tacos were good except for the lettuce that came with them (We had forgotten to ask for only onions and cilantro. We also ordered an appetizer of guacamole that was enormous and quite good, although lacking a little zip. On my previous visit I had eaten the
cecina estila guerrero that was a huge platter of meat and grilled
cebollitas. Service was very friendly and I really like this place. It's a definite upgrade from the food I usually get in the area (mainly due to large family gatherings at kid friendly chains) and I am anxious to return to sample their steamed goat.
The menu is nothing groundbreaking but the portions are large and the food is fresh and tasty. It is a little pricey as is the norm in the area. I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here but if in the area I would lookm forward to another opportunity to eat here.
