I did an lth search on karoake in chinatown, but only came up with Triad. I have a friend working at mccormick place setting up the auto show, and with limited "social" time, they're looking for some wacky stuff to do in the chinatown area, namely in the style of a salty-old bar w/karaoke.

    any ideas?

    thanks

Emerald City, on Cermak next to the firehouse, has karaoke on weekends, I believe. Nice little place (bare bones decor, but dark) with a good bar and a nice lady running the place (Winnie - a sweetheart). The food is surprisingly good, too, though I've only had old standbys there (potstickers, singapore noodles, beef in black bean, etc..). Follow the bouncing ball and practice your Cantonese crooning. Hell, chase anything with a few zombies or mai-tais and it all sounds like the same language anyway...

If I"m remembering correctly, it's two doors west of the firehouse--on the other side of Moon Palace?
