With regards to dates in Evanston, my NU college buddies and I used to think that the test of whether a relationship was going to last would be to go on the first date to Cross Rhodes, order two gyros dinners (a filthy layer of fries, gyros and yogurt, but delicious) and glasses of rose and if nary an eyebrow was raised, it was a good sign. No one ever executed this test . . . .

heh, my gf and I eat at CrossRhodes on a regular basis even though our first date was at Mandarin House on Noyes, we ate XR gyros before our 1st date (with our kids, they like the fries)....so I guess that kind of counts.

Speaking of their fries, we find they are greatly enhanced by ordering them to go with a gyros dinner. By the time you get home the juices from the gyros melds with the fries lemon herb coating to be come a Good Thing.
I used to think the brain was the most important part of the body. Then I realized who was telling me that.

I cannot seem to link to it but speaking of date places I did mention scented candles and Southern Comfort at Long John Silver's.If you are with the right persom the ambiance matters less.
