Lunch today at Golden Budha, the attractive new Asian place in the west Loop, was so awful I’m not going to waste your time on a review, just enumerate the grievances.
Hot And Sour Soup—was neither. Addition of ample soy sauce and vinegar made it barely palatable.
Kung Pao Chicken—huh? Dark meat chicken, zucchini and water chestnuts in a sweet, obviously bottled brown sauce.
Vegetable Fried Rice— would discredit Panda Express. Tasteless.
Egg Roll—off-flavor, as if it had been cooked in oxidized oil.
Iced Tea—terrible tasting, from powder. It’s not as if they don’t have plenty of brewed tea around.
Service— I hope our server figures out what she wants to do, because it sure isn’t waiting tables.
The owners have extensive experience running quite well-regarded restaurants; they seem to be doing everything wrong here.
