In my continued reconnaissance of my soon to be neighborhood I came across the Humboldt Pie Cafe. They have some decent looking sandwiches, this thread says they serve intelligentsia coffee, which I've read is pretty good, have free wi-fi, are less then a mile from the house, and have key lime pie, which I suspect will not be the easiest thing to find in Chicago.
Any first hand experiences?

Actually, it's all over the place. Most of the Lettuce Entertain You restaurants offer it in one form or another, typically a pretty good version, and Morton's, Nick's Fishmarket, Catch 35, Buddy Guy's, just to name a few.

Interesting, I always assumed it was primarily a southern thing. I never remember seeing it around the South Shore of Mass a decade ago, and didn't really know it existed at all till I got to college in Mobile, AL.
I'll be intrested to see how it stacks up to what I've had here.
Still looking for info on Humboldt Pie if anyone has it.

You are right of course, the filling is only four basic ingredients. But since I have no will power when it comes to having sweets around the house, I don't like to make an entire pie. So when I want a slice, it would be nice to know there is someone locally that I can take my laptop to, get online, and eat a piece.
Thanks for your input.
