Deep fried pickle chips?

I had deep fried battered dill pickle chips once at a bar in Mendota, IL (now closed) - does anyone know of a restaurant or bar in the Chicagoland area that has them on their menu? I'd also love to find a local version of a bar snack than a friend had in Italy - sausage stuffed deep fried green olives with a crispy light batter.
