Do you ever recommend restaurants to people with the caveat that they order specific items on the menu? Thai Valley is one of those places for my wife and me. We've had a few of their selections, but two of them stand out.
The Spicy Rice Namsod is described on the menu as a "tasty Thai curry rice mixture combined with ground pork, red onions, roasted peanut and ginger in a tasty spicy sauce, served with lettuce." They do include a lot of fresh ginger in there. The texture of the ground pork is wonderful, kind of like the best falafel you've ever had:
We also love the dish called Crispy Crepe. We haven't actually figured out what the crepe is made out of, but my wife thinks it's some sort of deep-fried puffed rice concoction. It comes with ground chicken, bean sprouts, red onion, cilantro and a sweet vinegar sauce that I suspect may be too sweet for many of you. But we love it:
On this night we also had the Yum Nue (beef salad) which we ordered hot and boy it was fiery! My wife was a little miffed about it (she likes it medium), but I plowed forward!
It's a BYOB and there's a pretty substantial liquor store a few doors north.
