Amongst the finest sources for steaks available, Omaha Steaks is famed for providing high quality beef and gourmet products to customers across the country and all round the world.
Their name is well-known amongst cooks and grillmasters thanks to their continued commitment to providing the best food available.
And Omaha Steaks works to make sure that they deliver on that commitment.

Starting in 1917, Omaha Steaks built its reputation on supplying high quality Midwestern steaks to people and businesses looking for choice cuts of excellent steak.
This family owned business started out in Omaha, Nebraska and has kept its headquarters there throughout its history and expansion.
And this expansion has seen the business stretch into areas including food service, mail order, incentive marketing, telesales, retail and even online sales.
And with each successive step, Omaha Steaks further cements its reputation as the place to turn to when looking for quality steak. you can find omaha steaks coupons at http://www.slideshare.net/omahasteaksco ... ks-coupons

Someone's been posting messages with the exact same wording on a whole bunch of message boards, most having nothing to do with food. To me, this is advertising. I'll be sure not to try the product.

If the poster has spent any time at all reading this board (which I doubt) he/she would realize that the post simply invites more comments about their products, which in the past haven't been very positive.

This is why it is on the professional board. :)

I prefer this type of post than the ones where they pretend to be the satisfied customer.

Although it is on the professionals board, the poster doesn't introduce or identify him or herself. The same post appears on other websites. It's impersonal. To me, there's no difference between this and an advertisement.

I too prefer this type to the fake customer approach. But I vastly prefer the honest, straightforward approach: "Hi, I'm Joe and I work in the marketing department for Omaha steaks. We've got some excellent products....here's a coupon."

Well, and when you get right down to it, I'd rather an ad for Omaha Steaks than something that turns out to be porn...

But I like that you linked the existing thread, Nr706. Maybe we should e-mail it to them and let them know they're shooting themselves in the foot.

I was a recipient of an order of Omaha Steaks once. I wouldn't buy them after eating them. I can get similar tasting steaks at Wal-Mart at a much better price.

I agree that a link to the other discussion be sent to them.

The body and the link make it pretty clear this is someone spamming hundreds or thousands of forums to increase their pagerank in google, and thus increase their affiliate sales of Omaha's (crap) products.

If that's the case, one of the moderators could add the "nofollow" tag to their little link.. that way it won't help because Google won't count it.

I've been unfortunate enough to be gifted Omaha Steaks in the past. The best way that I can describe them is that if one bought select grade tenderloin steaks, trimmed them of all fat and let them soak in water for 48 hours, one could create the same product at home for 1/4 of the price of Omaha Steaks.

Interesting. I complained via the internet to Omaha Steaks and gave them the above links. They're now both shut down.

Now if only they would offer quality meat....

From the changed subject line I take it you are not appreciative of Omaha Steaks, care to elaborate. "Nuff said" is not very descriptive.

I agree, and perhaps this is a discussion for another thread, but even though it's the professional forum, is it the intention of the mods to let it become a dumping ground for internet ads? It's one thing to use the forum to discuss the issues of professionals in the industry, or to give them a place to network. It's another entirely to treat it as free advertising. I imagine it could be a fine line at times, but I don't think anybody (Omaha Steaks included, even if they don't realize it) wants this, and my impression is that this type of thing is becoming more and more common as LTH grows.
