    Chef Patrick Presents...

patoriq (Patrick Barclay) was one of the proud few who made it through the full day of eating during the 24-hour Chowathon, and he's recently teamed with CWFisher, my friend and mentor, to produce a series of cooking videos that are focused on cooking actions rather than cooking talk.

You can access the videos here:

patoriq and CW are contemplating commercial applications for these cooking snippets, but for now, they're doing it for the love of the kitchen.

I'm sure these guys would appreciate any input you have.

Interesting, but I think both the quality of the video and the instruction is far better at www.rouxbe.com. These guys should check that site out for inspiration.

I think rouxbe is slicker, but I actually enjoyed Chef Patrick a bit more as it was more amiable. He's a personable chap, and I felt like I was being let into his kitchen, friend to friend, rather than watching an educational video.

Thanks, David, for the link. (But also thanks for rouxbe, stevez -- not charming, but certainly useful.)

David -- please pass along to Patrick that I enjoy his blog and can't wait to try the creme anglaise (I became an addict while living in England back in my student days). I tried to leave a comment, but it won't accept any comments unless you have a Google account.

I agree 100%. I love the music in the background and would much rather watch Chef Patrick than anything on rouxbe. Maybe that's because I already know how to cook - I'm sure that my friend who is a novice in the kitchen would watch rouxbe (if she was inclined to watch cooking videos on the computer). I guess it depends on what sort of audience they're going for.

contemplating commercial applications for these cooking snippets

Anything specific that you can divulge? I think the realness of the snippets could make them great for some commercial uses. Because they're so not commercials.
