Wow -- sorry you're not closer to where I live. Your website makes it sound like you're just the sort of place I'd like to shop. I'll definitely make a trip, but it's too bad you're not down the block.

I'm very near and would love to stop by. The website doesn't have any hours of operation - what are they?

    greengrocerchicago-

Hi - I live in West Town and I recently heard about your store through a fellow neighborhood denizen who had stopped in. Everything she told me about your store sounded great and there is a real need for your type of business in my neighborhood. However, I had to verify your location with my friend three times because I drive by your store at least twice a day and never noticed it. Your signage is, let's say, subtle. Perhaps there are some restrictions to your lease, but maybe there's at least some way you could make it more noticeable?

I'm sorry you had a hard time finding us! Well, as with everything involving the city of chicago (like a permit to put up a storefront awning), the process is less than speedy. We received word that we should have a nice, lit awning up next week so please keep your fingers crossed and please come visit us! Looking forward to meeting you, Cassie

just wanted to share my thoughts from my visit.

a little bit out of my way for regular visits (i'm in logan square), but i had to visit an alterations shop on ashland, a bit south of augusta (gus', what a great guy), and made use of my time to explore the shop since i was in the area.

picked up a few items, and i am especially loving my milk & honey granola, which i had for the 1st time at the five buck brunch at juicy wine bar a couple weeks ago. i had some again this morning & feel no need to buy any other granola from now on. sometimes it is worth it to splurge on items that are so superior to what you can find in the big supermarkets.

    cheers & good luck,
    miss ellen

I've also had great experiences at Green Grocer. Their section of produce, albeit small (soon to double with the advent of spring) was very fresh, and reasonably priced - especially for organic. I got rosemary, portobello mushrooms, and mixed greens, and can vouch for the quality of all of them! They have a lovely section of staples, and a deli case with salads and sandwiches. Looking forward to the larger produce section.
